The Music of Bipolar Disorder

Angeler, D.G. The Music of Bipolar Disorder. Preprints 2017, 2017030199 (doi: 10.20944/preprints201703.0199.v1).
This paper builds on the use of heavy metal music as a communication tool, which has been discussed in one of my earlier papers. Here the approach focuses on the education about mental illness through artistic approaches (it is astounding how many unperceived purposes certain facets of art can have).
This paper has not passed the filter of conservative peer review in more than five topic-relevant journals. Now it is for more than a half year under review in an other journal. I have therefore decided to make it available as a preprint until (if ever) it gets published in a journal. I hope that it will benefit not only from the journal review process but also by the feedback from the broader communities of scientists, health care clinicians and artists. Publishing as a preprint seems to be ideal for helping this paper grow. Please support the process by engaging in a lively discussion. Thank you!
